It takes all kinds to make a world © M.Cervantes

Since this week topic is announced as a team work, we are all busy with discovering our places in teams and a sweet spot of the team in the project. Our team decided to be more enthusiastic than confused this week and make something that wasn’t in the Project Guide, however it can still be helpful and interesting.

We took the initiative to collect some information that could help understand other people better and discover yourself from a new perspective. Among many methods, I consider 16 types of personality theory or the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® to be the most convenient way to make a journey to yourself.

You can do the test here. It will take you less then 12 minutes. You shall answer honestly, even if you don’t like the answer. And try not to leave any “neutral” answers.

After the test feel free to leave feedbacks and share your personality types with us. Or if you have questions don’t hesitate to ask 😉

  1. BE ORIGINAL! Excellent. (And I don’t put too much stock in the Meyers Brigs beyond a starting point for self awareness and conversation. I worry about “pigeon holing” people and stereotypes. There is also some conflicting research on the approach. Just saying…

  2. Great to see you as a group dived into your own personalities! Though maybe you should have made a bigger effort presenting the results, I haven’t got a clue on how the two tables apply to your team!?

    1. The aim of this post wasn’t to present a result and the two tables below is not the reflection on our team, but just a starting point. But we will surely show how this impacts our team work in the following posts.

it explains a lot!!!! I’m glad you made this post and I’m intrigued to see what everyone else from our team got. Because after working as a team for 3 weeks I’ve spotted we all have very different personalities and i don’t think anyone is the same so guys do the test!!!

  5. I found out I’m a debater with a test result as an ENTP -A. I’m not convinced yet that it corresponds totally to my personality, but it described me well in a few leading aspects.

It is very interesting to assimilate this test to our teamwork performance, because it may influence our effectiveness by learning to know and understand eachother and lead to more diverse results. Sometimes small distinctions in personalities can have a huge effect on a group work in terms of contribution, leadership, various working types…etc

  6. It’s great to read your reactions and results; I agree with some of you stating it can definitely improve your teamwork; could you all perhaps also share what specific elements of your type description applies to you in collaboration/teamwork?

  8. All in all, I eventually wanted to reflect on our overall group achievement that found a very positive outcome in my opinion. I thought it would be appropriate to write it in the section ‘team work’, even though this blog entry was one of the first, a time where we barely knew each other. It also gives me a way to realize our progress in group collaboration: The team communication was a bit erratic in the very beginning, due to confusion and lack of personal knowledge about the other group members, as in the end of this project the collaboration within the group improved. The test that Vicky posted in this blog was therefore actually a really decisive approach to explore personalities of those with whom you will work with for a few couple of weeks. And indeed I think it might have had its benefits, because we quickly realized the talents of each of us and distributed corresponding tasks to individual preferences, which gave the team certain guidance for an efficient outcome. Referring to the past, it is great to see that we improved in the group dynamics, and that we finally created a well-presentable video.
